Newcastle substitute Damien Duff scored a late winner against Tottenham to lift Joe Kinnear’s side into mid-table.

The Republic of Ireland international played a fabulous one-two with Mark Viduka then kept his composure to slot the ball past Heurelho Gomes.

Charles N’Zogbia gave Newcastle the lead when he collected a long pass from Shay Given and fired in.

Luka Modric equalised when he ran on to a Michael Dawson ball and sent his low effort past Given.

Newcastle’s second successive win means they are now unbeaten in six and four points clear of a relegation zone they have been flirting with since the start of the season.

Ledley King and Jamie O’Hara scored the goals which earned Tottenham victory in a hard-fought derby against West Ham.

Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko hit the post just before half-time but defender King met Aaron Lennon’s cross on 68 minutes to open the scoring.

West Ham almost levelled but Heurelho Gomes made a fine double stop from Lucas Neill and David Di Michele.

From that chance, Spurs broke and substitute O’Hara fired in a superb shot to seal the victory.

The victory, manager Harry Redknapp’s fourth consecutive success at Upton Park, saw Spurs replace the Hammers in 15th place in the Premier League table.

Tottenham moved out of the Premier League’s bottom three with a victory over Blackburn, who had defender Martin Olsson sent off on 39 minutes.

Aaron Lennon was Spurs’ inspiration and he set up the winner when he robbed Olsson, went on a run and cut the ball back for Roman Pavlyuchenko to slot in.

Pavlyuchenko almost grabbed a second when his glancing header hit a post.

Olsson was dismissed when he brought down his tormentor Lennon and received his second yellow card of the match.

The 20-year-old Swede had no answer to Lennon’s direct running and suffered a horribly embarrassing afternoon.

In contrast, Lennon produced a performance full of pace, confidence and incisiveness.

With Blackburn one place and one point above Spurs in the table before the match, there was a lot at stake for both teams.

Roman Pavlyuchenko scored a late winner as Tottenham came from behind to beat Liverpool and haul themselves off the foot off the Premier League table.

Dirk Kuyt put Liverpool ahead when he smashed in a shot on three minutes.

Darren Bent sliced a clearance against his own post before Steven Gerrard hit the post with a deflected shot and then saw his lob cannon back off the bar.

Jamie Carragher headed into his own net to give Spurs hope and Pavlyuchenko tapped in from Bent’s cross to win it.

It was a remarkable turnaround for Tottenham, whose fortunes have been completely revived under the stewardship of new boss Harry Redknapp.

Aaron Lennon’s injury-time equaliser capped a stunning fightback from Harry Redknapp’s Tottenham against Arsenal.

David Bentley’s brilliant early strike put Spurs ahead, but Mikael Silvestre headed Arsenal level before half-time.

William Gallas put Arsenal in front seconds after the re-start and Emmanuel Adebayor bundled home their third.

Darren Bent pulled one back before Robin van Persie added Arsenal’s fourth – but Jermaine Jenas’s 89th-minute goal and Lennon’s tap-in earned a point.

Bentley’s audacious opener gave Redknapp the perfect start to his first official game in charge, but that early optimism soon disappeared as Arsenal took total control of the north London derby.

But once again Arsenal were guilty of their familiar crime of over-elaboration and missing chances, leaving the door open for Spurs to rescue a point from a game that looked lost.

Tottenham edged into the Uefa Cup group stages with a narrow 3-2 aggregate win at Wisla Krakow that will do little to ease the pressure on boss Juande Ramos.

Despite holding a first leg lead, Spurs were totally bereft of confidence, and Radoslaw Sobolewski and Pawel Brozek threatened early on for the hosts.

Spurs nerves were calmed when Arkadiusz Glowacki deflected Gareth Bale’s cross into his own net to put Spurs 1-0 up.

But Brozek’s lob levelled the leg and Spurs just held on in a frantic finale.
