Landon Donovan scored a pair of goals in the second half on assists from David Beckham as the Los Angeles Galaxy overcame a pair of one-goal deficits and escape with a 2-2 draw with the Houston Dynamo on Saturday. With his team trailing, 2-1, late in the game, Beckham made a perfect crossing pass through a defender to a sliding Donovan, who converted into the open side of the goal in the 84th minute. It was Donovan’s fifth goal of the young season.

David Beckham’s much ballyhooed trip to Colorado was spoiled by a gritty host side as the Colorado Rapids thumped the Los Angeles Galaxy 4-0 in the 2008 MLS season opener for both clubs at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
Beckham missed last year’s Galaxy trip to Commerce City but played all 90 minutes on Saturday. The buzz surrounding his visit to Colorado this time around was grand as the Rapids packed in a stadium-record 18,713 fans to watch the former England captain lead the Galaxy against the Rapids.

David Beckham returned from injury for Los Angeles Galaxy as the side extended their unbeaten run to seven games.
Beckham, who has been out with a knee injury since 29 August, came on after 68 minutes in the 1-1 draw with New York Red Bulls.

The midfielder failed to help his side to a sixth straight win but they still have a chance of making the play-offs.

LA now have to win their final game of the season against Chicago Fire on Sunday to keep their season alive.

Beckham lacked match fitness but his return could be the boost the side need after their recent good form has breathed new life into their season as they aim for a play-off spot.

A capacity crowd came to see David Beckham play soccer and a fight broke out.

The English superstar, just off a flight from London earlier in the day, got feisty after being tackled from behind by Jesse Marsch of Chivas USA in the Los Angeles Galaxy’s 3-0 loss Thursday night.

Beckham played the entire 90 minutes for the third time in six days, and was limping slightly near the end of the game in which he served as captain for the third consecutive match.
