The Premiership is over now and we are having a little look at who could be a shock England call-up. Luckily, Capello has lots of options for his team and we have a few betting options for possible members of the 23 man squad. World Cup betting is very popular, so below are a few options to look at:

Bobby Zamora – this season he has been Fulham’s star and helped them reach the Europa League final. The striker spot is arguably the most difficult position to choose, with Bent, Carlton Cole and Heskey all other options. However Capello may go for Zamora’s form and ability to hold up play well, which England really needs.

Scott Parker – begin West Ham’s player of the year and scoring the vital goal that kept them in the premiership might make Capello look at Parker. He has only had one call-up under Capello before, but let’s see.

Owen Hargreaves – although he has just come back from a long injury, Hargreaves was England’s star man at the last World Cup. With the Injury to Gareth Barry that will take 4 weeks or more to heal, Hargreaves could end up being the fittest of the 2 specialist holding midfielders.

Sol Campbell – England have had a lot of centre back problems recently. With Sol’s re-emergence at Arsenal he is in with a shot to get into the England team. His strength and speed is certainly something that Capello will want in his squad, so he could just be on that plane.

To make matters worse it was Chelsea’s controversial signing Gael Kakuta that had his penaly saved!

Chelsea fielded a weakened team, but it was still a very strong side. They had to bring on striker Didier Drogba to keep them in the match. Could this be a warning of the problems Chelsea could face during the African Cup of Nations in January?

Tomorrow Manchester United travel to Barnsley in the fourth round of the Carling Cup. We have the odds and a small match preview.

Manchester United are the current League Cup holders and it is obviously going to be a big game for Barnsley. Mancheser United are likely to field a changed team after their weekend defeat to Liverpool. Darren Fletcher could return to midfield after recovering from a groin injury. These types of games are popular for fielding fringe players and players coming back from injury and can often spring surprises if the players are not accustomed to playing with each other.

It should be mentioned that Barnsley manger Mark Robins is a former United player. How will he fair when his former team visit his new team?

If you would like a free bet on the match, you can get your free bet here.

Yesterday Liverpool lost 1-0 to Sunderland when the ball deflected off a beach ball. To add insult to injury, the beach ball had been thrown onto the pitch by one of their own fans! No doubt that guy would have got a lot of stick from the fans around him.

The rules actually state that the goal should not have stood, but the referee’s decision is final and the goal was given.

This loss adds to Liverpool’s worries and they now sit 8th in the table after 9 games. They were without Gerrard and Torres, and this goes to show how important those two players actually are to the team.
