Who will go? – England World Cup betting

May 10, 2010

The Premiership is over now and we are having a little look at who could be a shock England call-up. Luckily, Capello has lots of options for his team and we have a few betting options for possible members of the 23 man squad. World Cup betting is very popular, so below are a few options to look at:

Bobby Zamora – this season he has been Fulham’s star and helped them reach the Europa League final. The striker spot is arguably the most difficult position to choose, with Bent, Carlton Cole and Heskey all other options. However Capello may go for Zamora’s form and ability to hold up play well, which England really needs.

Scott Parker – begin West Ham’s player of the year and scoring the vital goal that kept them in the premiership might make Capello look at Parker. He has only had one call-up under Capello before, but let’s see.

Owen Hargreaves – although he has just come back from a long injury, Hargreaves was England’s star man at the last World Cup. With the Injury to Gareth Barry that will take 4 weeks or more to heal, Hargreaves could end up being the fittest of the 2 specialist holding midfielders.

Sol Campbell – England have had a lot of centre back problems recently. With Sol’s re-emergence at Arsenal he is in with a shot to get into the England team. His strength and speed is certainly something that Capello will want in his squad, so he could just be on that plane.
