Just as the media near enough awarded Chelsea the Premiership title, Blackburn dumped them out of the Carling Cup. The match ended 3-3 and Blackburn won on penalties. To make matters worse it was Chelsea’s controversial signing Gael Kakuta that had his penaly saved!
Chelsea fielded a weakened team, but it was still a very strong side. They had to bring on striker Didier Drogba to keep them in the match. Could this be a warning of the problems Chelsea could face during the African Cup of Nations in January?
