Craig Gordon

Aug 6, 2007

Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon has been given permission to hold transfer talks with Sunderland and Aston Villa.

Sunderland boss Roy Keane has rekindled his interest in the Scotland goalkeeper after having a £5m bid rejected by the Edinburgh club last month.

Aston Villa want a keeper after an injury to Thomas Sorensen.

A £9m transfer to either of the English clubs may be concluded before Monday’s Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle.

Is he really worth £9million or is this just another example of British (although normally just English) players being sold at a premium just because of their birth place.

He doesnt have Premier League experience, he isnt playing in a top European league, he’s not even playing at one of the real top clubs in his league.

From everything I’ve heard he is good, but is he that good?
